Cycle Towards the Music!
Tour de Picnic began in 2009 as a small cycling fundraiser. Event Fuel Director Brian McDermott took 30 participants and cycled 80K from Dublin to Electric Picnic, raising funds for charity. Due to the charitable nature, great message and the exhilarating challenge involved in this event, entry to Electric Picnic at the finish line was then granted to participants in the years following.
An annual cycling and running charity event, The Complete Natural Tour de Picnic had on its 10th year in 2018 over 1200 participants. It is aiming for a similar number for its 11th anniversary in 2019. The total number of participants is broken down into 800 cyclists and 400 runners. Participants for the 2018 event took on an 80K cycling challenge from Tallaght Stadium in Dublin to Stradbally, Co. Laois (Electric Picnic Festival).
Runners took part in an equally scenic challenge in a 15K route across countryside trails from Coursetown Country House to the Electric Picnic Festival site.
